Michael Scott Sankey is Of Counsel with Clouthier Law, PLLC. He is an Attorney with a background in appellate, real estate, oil and gas, and military law. His favorite area of law is appellate practice where he takes pride in vigorously defending his clients. In his legal career, Michael has demonstrated skill and dedication. He has briefed multiple cases before the Texas Courts of Appeals, Texas Supreme Court, and Federal Courts of Appeals.
Michael’s expertise extends to the military realm where he serves as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General’s Corp for the Texas Army National Guard. Michael assists Commanders and the General Counsel for the Texas Military Department, offering advice on a wide range of legal issues and representing the department in separation board proceedings.
Before embarking on his legal journey, Michael worked as a landman in New Mexico and Texas, showcasing his negotiation skills and understanding of midstream contracts for energy production companies. This experience laid a solid foundation for his legal practice, where he combines his legal expertise with practical knowledge.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Michael spends time his family, travels, and loves coffee. Michael is also an avid practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, enjoys weightlifting, and playing the electric guitar, reflecting his well-rounded personality and commitment to both mental and physical fitness.
